Our Good Word for today comes from Luke 18 in The Passion Translation, specifically verse 43. Here we have a beautiful story of a blind man who encountered Jesus. This man, who was an outcast from society, calls to Jesus from the side of the road. While everyone around tries to ignore the man and get him to leave Jesus alone, the man continues. He calls out, acknowledging that Jesus is the Messiah. Jesus stops. Jesus, filled with mercy, calls for the man to come to Him. Jesus declares the the man’s faith has healed him.
Then verse 43 says, “Instantly he could see again. His eyes popped open, and he saw Jesus.”
What a beautiful picture. He was blind…and then the first thing he sees is the face of Jesus! The gracious, merciful, loving, beautiful face of Jesus! Can you imagine?
What’s the first thing before your eyes when you wake up each day? Is it the gracious, merciful, loving, beautiful face of Jesus? Or is it worry, fear, Facebook, Instagram, the news?
May Jesus be the first thing you see when you pop your eyes open every morning, and the last thought every night.
Luke 18:43…that’s a Good Word for today!
Have you accepted Jesus as Savior and Lord?
